ADVICE.DOC - 5/5/93 - by Christopher E. Long
It is recommended that you create two different Tiny Tafels.
The first Tiny Tafel should contain all family lines that you have
information to share and/or wish to know more about...not just from the
ancestors of one person. You should consider condensing multiple lines
of the same surname into one line so that the TT can be more quickly
read by persons and processed by computerized matching programs. You
should distribute this TT as widely as possible...TMS, GenData, TTCS,
Compuserve, local genealogy BBS's, etc. The more people that see it,
the more likely that it will become a useful research tool for you.
The second Tiny Tafel is one that contains the matching criteria that
you will use for performing matching reports on with the Tiny Tafel
Editor. Let's call it a "Matching Tafel". You could simply use your
first TT as a matching tafel if you wanted to. By having a second one,
you could exclude the lines that you have information about but are not
interested in researching further. You should not distribute this
second TT because its contents are only of interest to you. Use it
only for producing matching reports with the Tiny Tafel Editor.
